District 113 Adult Education is funded by grants and offers free programs for adults aged 16 and older. Our programs include:
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Adult Basic Education
- Adult Secondary Education
- Citizenship Preparation
- Introduction to Healthcare Careers
- Introduction to Administrative Office Careers
- Careers Exploration Bridge programs
- Entrepreneurship Bridge for High Intermediate ABE and ASE Students (ABE and ASE)
- Illinois High School Equivalency (GED®) Preparation classes
- Digital literacy workshops
Course instruction covers essential skills, such as:
- Basic literacy and academic skills
- Learning the English language by focusing on listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar
- Digital literacy and keyboarding skills
- Understanding citizenship rights and responsibilities
- Preparing for employment and the workforce
