Highland Park High School English Department Vision

The HPHS English Department will inspire responsible citizenship essential for successful participation in both a democratic society and a global community. To this end, students will continue to develop classical and contemporary literacy needed to understand a variety of media, literary styles, voices, and perspectives. Students will be taught the skills and offered the opportunities to become critical thinkers and effective communicators and to make connections within and beyond the English curriculum.
