• Peace Day - September 21

    an annual day of global ceasefire promoting non-violence

    This day has been set aside by the United Nations as a day of international peace. 

    The 2022 theme is "End Racism. Build Peace."

    On this day when we are at school, we usually we sell peace buttons and food to raise awareness and funds for a peace-related cause. In past years,

    • we supported KIND, an organization focused on children who need legal representation at the US-Mexico border
    • we raised awareness and funds for UNHCR to help Afghan refugees fleeing after the United States withdrawal in August 2021 and had petitions that called for distribution of more Covid vaccines to the global community

    In 2022, we will have action & info items in the Cafe, where we will also sell Raising Cain's and peace buttons.  All proceeds will go to Pakistan flood relief through UNICEF.
